TUITION + FEES, ACADEMIC YEAR 2012-2013, EFFECTIVE JULY 2012

Tuition: Architecture

For students matriculating into a Bachelor or Master program in Architecture at NSAD prior to Fall 2007 (i.e., on or before 9/30/2007) and who have been continuously enrolled (except for summer quarters):               

$7,350 per quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   630 per unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   630 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

For students matriculating in to a Bachelor Program in Architecture at NSAD Fall 2007 or later (i.e., on or after 10/1/2007):

$7,900 per quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   687 per unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   687 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

For students matriculating in to a Master Program in Architecture (including the Executive Masters Program) at NSAD Fall 2007 or later (i.e., on or after 10/1/2007):

$8,433 per quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   734 per unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   734 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

Tuition: Landscape Architecture

For students matriculating in to a Master Program in Landscape Architecture at NSAD Fall 2007 or later (i.e., on or after 10/1/2007):

$7,665 per quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   667 per unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   667 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

Tuition: Digital Media Arts

The new tuition schedule for the Bachelor Program in Digital Media Arts program will be:

$6,867 per Quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   595 per Unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   595 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

Tuition: Construction Management

The new tuition schedule for the Bachelor of Construction Management program will be:

$7,900 per Quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   687 per Unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   687 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

The new tuition schedule for the Master of Construction Management program will be (effective 10/01/2012):

$8,433 per Quarter for full-time status (12 to 18 units per quarter)
$   734 per Unit over 18 units in a quarter
$   734 per quarter unit for part-time status (less than 12 units per quarter)

Fees:

Student operation fee:  per quarter, non-refundable

$135 Includes: Copy and Printing fees, Studio, Lab, School Access and ID Card, Library & Career Services, Student Activity Fee

Student Tuition Recovery Fund—state of California mandate

STRF rate is based on institutional charges (tuition and fees) for the entire program (one time collection):  $2.50 per $1000

Health Insurance Fee

$22/year Accident Insurance(required for all students)
$1204*/year Health Insurance Premium (coverage is required, but NSAD policy may be waived with proof of comparable coverage)   
*annual health insurance premium is subject to change by provider

Additional fees as incurred:

$75  Application Fee (non-refundable)

$250  Late Registration Fee

$50  Fee to add or drop a course after Drop/Add period

$100  Administrative Fee for Tuition Refunds (up to 60% of coursework)

$25  Late Payment Fee

$35  Returned Check Fee

$10  Transcript Fee

$250 Graduation Fee

The graduation fee covers the following:

  • Official transcript
  • Thesis processing
  • Commencement ceremony fees
  • Degree audit
  • Diploma printing
  • Thesis Exhibition
  • Administrative costs
  • Automatic lifetime membership in alumni association (job postings, alumni events)

$500  Course Challenge Fee

$0.25  Overdue Library Book Fee (charged per day)

$25  Student ID Replacement Fee (one replacement free)

Tuition changes:

NewSchool of Architecture and Design reserves the right to review and modify tuition and fees prior to each academic year and will attempt to give notification of changes at least sixty (60) days prior to the beginning of classes (this does not include non-refundable application fee).
