Four NewSchool of Architecture and Design Students Win Scholarships to Study Abroad

San Diego—June 15, 2012—NewSchool of Architecture and Design (NSAD) has named four winners of the International Travel/Research Scholarship administered by the NewSchool Arts Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to broadening both public and scholarly understanding of architecture and the built environment. The winners of the $1,500 scholarships are:
“The expansion of study abroad programs available to our students adds an essential richness to the quality of their educational experience,” said NSAD President Steve Altman. “We are impressed by the strength and depth of this year’s group of applicants, which speaks to the quality of the instruction they are receiving.” The scholarships support study abroad through independent research projects approved by a faculty advisor; study abroad programs in Greece, Italy and Denmark; participation in programs and courses within the Laureate International Universities network; and international internship experiences. Winners of the scholarship must give a 30-minute presentation on their experience after they return from their study abroad.
